Teresa McLamb Blackmon is a native North Carolinian who lives in the small town of Benson. She is a retired high school English teacher and former instructor at Johnston Community College, Wake Technical College, and N. C. State University.
Blackmon began writing in the 7th grade and continued writing spora
dically through her first years of college. After taking a Creative Writing course under former Poet Laureate Shelby Stephenson who always told her to "keep writing." Blackmon has two published books of poems, Daddy Said and A Cast of Characters. A third manuscript, Along for the Ride, is out for publication.
Blackmon is active in her writing community and in the Benson community. She is a 
board member of the Benson Foundation for the Arts, a regular at Salvaged Heirlooms Triva, and the co-leader of a local book club,
Southern Exposure. She is also a member of the Ttriangle East Writers Group and the North Carolina Writer's Network.
